One Putt, Two Winners
• One Putt Broadcasting Fresno announces two programming department upgrades: 1) Jason “Hammer” Squires is upped to Director of Programming for all four FM brands, adding Classic Rock KJFX (95.7 The Fox) to his “to-do” list, along with his current charges: Alternative KFRR (New Rock 104.1), Top 40 KWDO (99.3 NOW FM), and Classic Hits KJWL (K-Jewel 105.5); and 2) Market vet David Kane is promoted to APD for those same FMs. He will continue to do afternoon drive on 99.3 NOW and serve as Director of Public Service & Relations for K-Jewel.
“I needed more radio in my life apparently,” said Squires, who originally joined KFRR 22 years ago. “In all seriousness, these brands are all great and more importantly, our local broadcasting company is great and really excited to guide them all to continued success in 2022.”
Kane returned to his hometown last September after a stint as SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia Modesto and Stockton. Before that he spent two years programming KZCH & KRBB/Wichita. Kane began his career in 1991 at KTAA/Kerman-Fresno. He programmed Rhythmic KQEQ-AM from 1994-1999 and Art Laboe‘s KKPW-turned KOKO-FM from 1999-2006. From 2006-2010 Kane worked for CBS Radio Fresno as APD/Imaging Director, followed by eight years as Regional APD for iHeartMedia Fresno.
“It’s great to be back in the building working with a fantastic group of people and old friends,” said Kane. “With all brands locally programmed plus add the fact there are live DJs in the studio, it’s going to be a lot of fun. Born and raised here, I look forward to continuing to cement One Putt Broadcasting into the Fresno community. Special thanks to Jason Squires and John & Katie Ostlund.”
