Palacios Wakes Up In Visalia
• Nice to see longtime Central Valley radio pro Danny Palacios already back in action — less than a month after he was downsized out of his gig as PD of Alpha Media Rhythmic Oldies KKBB (Groove 99.3) and Top 40 KLLY (Energy 95.3)/Bakersfield after 11 years, Palacios has resurfaced an hour north — mornings at Momentum Broadcasting Top 40 KCRZ (Hitz 104.9)/Visalia, CA, reporting to PD Randy Hendrix.
RAMP caught up with a grateful Palacios, who tells us, “I’m very excited and blessed, and I look forward to this new chapter in radio.”
Palacios landed his inaugural PD post at KKBB in July 2013 under former owner Buckley Radio and was upped to OM in 2019, and Director of Programming last September. He previously spent four years in San Luis Obispo, CA working for Mapleton Rhythmic KWWV (WiLD 106) and Classic Hits KXTZ (95.3 The Beach). Earlier in his career Palacios was Production Director for the Wilks cluster in Fresno.
The new gig also means a reunion with Rik McNeil, PD of Country sibling KJUG — all three of us are veterans of the late, legendary KYNO-FM/Fresno in the late ’80s.
