Palana Upped To PD of WCTK/Providence

• Hall Communications keeps it firmly in the family and announces that New England radio veteran Kevin Palana will be promoted to Program Director of WCTK (Cat Country 98.1)/Providence and Classic Hits sister WNBH (BIG 101.3)/New Bedford, MA, effective August 1. Palana, who is Cat Country’s Production Director & afternoon drive personality, will succeed current WCTK PD (and Hall VP of Programming) Bob Walker, who, as we previously reported, is relocating to Florida at the end of the summer to take command of Hall’s Lakeland/Winter Haven cluster.

Walker commented, “Kevin’s programming credentials are top-notch, with previous successes in New London at WQGN and New Bedford at WFHN (Fun 107). He is a true strategist and extremely detail-oriented. Our Hall culture is about promoting from within, which makes this so much more special.” WCTK VP/GM Tom Wall said, “Kevin has been a vital part of Cat County’s success this past decade. He knows this market inside and out, which makes him an excellent choice to be WCTK’s next PD.”

Palana remarked, “I want to thank Tom, Bob and everyone at Hall for this opportunity. I grew up in this market and there is no place I’d rather live. I look forward to working directly with Courtney Kelley and Brian Mulhern of Cat Country Mornings and the entire staff in Providence and New Bedford.” Palana can be congratulated at kevin@wctk.com.
