Palmer’s Career Reaches The End

Maria Palmer just touched down in Charlotte as the newly named MD/evening entertainer at iHeartMedia Alternative WEND (106.5 The End), effective immediately. She will also take the lead on WEND’s social media accounts. Palmer (pictured) took off from Washington National in DC, where she began her radio career doing weekends, swing and fill-in on iHeartMedia’s WWDC (DC101) and WMZQ.

Palmer reports to WEND PD Chuck “DZL” Thompson, who said, “I can’t wait for the people of Charlotte to hear Palmer on 106.5 The End. She has a rare blend of creativity, humor, passion and drive, but also possesses the administrative and organizational skills needed to assist in running the day-to-day operations of the programming department. Palmer is definitely one to watch, and we couldn’t be more excited to add her to the iHeart and WEND family.”

Palmer remarked, “I am absolutely thrilled to be joining the team at WEND and cannot wait to discover everything Queen City has to offer. I look forward to connecting on-air and online with my listeners, while simultaneously growing and expanding my skills behind the scenes as Music Director. I’m very enthusiastic to dive headfirst into my duties and am privileged to be a part of such a strong family at iHeartMedia Charlotte.”

Palmer succeeds Tamo Sein, who recently transferred to sunny Los Angeles as the new midday talent on sister KYSR (ALT 98.7).
