PD Opening In Scenic Peoria!
• Marc Alghini has exited as PD and morning host on Advanced Media Partners’ Triple A WWCT/Peoria, IL. The news was initially reported in the Peoria Journal Star, and we confirmed that info with OM Scott Hecathorn. Current morning co-host Roxy Baker will remain in that role, and for now, at least, part-timer Chris Watters is serving as interim morning co-host.
Alghini arrived in Peoria in June 2013 after seven years with CBS Radio Triple A WXRT/Chicago, where he was Morning Show Producer and overnight/weekend air personality. Alghini’s career also includes radio gigs in Boston and Albany, NY as well as time spent as an artist manager and on the label side as National Director of Promotion and Marketing for EMI/Astralwerks.
GM Mike Rea said that the search for Alghini’s replacement is already underway. While the formal posting is coming soon, Hecathorn says, “We’re looking for someone with strong people skills, the ability to lead our team as we continue to grow our brand, a Triple A background (preferably), and the ability to connect with the audience via social media and on air.” Interested candidates are cordially invited to email scotth@ampillinois.com.
