Peoria Forecast: Red Hot

• Cumulus Media has appointed “Red Hot” Brian Scott as Assistant Operations Manager of Country WFYR (NASH FM 97.3) and Rhythmic WZPW (Peoria’s 92.3)/Peoria, IL, effective Sept. 5. Scott arrives with over 20 years of radio experience, including stops at WTBS (95.5 The Beat)/Atlanta, WEDA (Hot 97.3)/Birmingham, AL and the late WYOK/Mobile, AL. Mr. Scott also enjoyed some quality time in the Quad Cities, working at KBEA and at the former WHTS — interestingly, it was at those last two stations where he worked with Joe Cook, who is now VP/Market Manager for Cumulus Media Peoria. Cook remarked, “Brian Scott is a true radio professional and a great leader who brings considerable expertise, energy and enthusiasm to Radio Peoria. He will be an immediate impact player in the market.”

Operations Manager Matt Bahan said, “We’re thrilled that Brian Scott is taking the programming reigns in Peoria with WFYR and WZPW. His passion is obvious, and his attention to detail and history of great ratings and success speak for themselves.
