Philpott Comes Home To Cumulus
• Jay Philpott makes his triumphant return to Cumulus Media, this time as Operations Manager of the company’s five-station group in Appleton-Oshkosh, WI. He will also serve as Program Director and afternoon personality for Classic Hits 103.9 WVBO, with a start date of May 15.
Philpott was most recently PD/afternoon personality at Cumulus Twin Cities’ Love 105 AC trimulcast — WGVX/Lakeville–WLUP/Cambridge–WWWM/Eden Prairie, MN until early March, when his position was eliminated. Philpott had also worked on-air for Classic Rock sister 92 KQRS and for Westwood One’s 24/7 Classic Rock 24/7 format.
Over the course of his four-decade career Philpott also held programming/on-air positions at WNNX (Rock 100.5)/Atlanta, WZBA (100.7 The Bay)/Baltimore, WARH (106.5 The Arch)/St. Louis, KZPS/Dallas, WLZR (Lazer 103)/Milwaukee, WNOR/Norfolk & KSD/St. Louis, to name a few. His other Minneapolis stops include WLOL, KFMX and WRQC.
When reintroducing Philpott, John Rowe, RVP/Market Manager, Cumulus Appleton-Oshkosh/Green Bay, said, “Wisconsin is excited to welcome back veteran broadcaster Jay Philpott to the airwaves. Jay knows Wisconsin and will fit perfectly with our outstanding programming team in Appleton.”
