PK: ALT’s New Louisville Slugger
• We now know the location of Phil “PK” Kukawinski‘s mystery gig — he’s a now a proud resident of Louisville, KY as the new Content Director and PM drive personality on Alpha Media Alternative WGHL (ALT 105.1). Earlier this month PK resigned his post as PD of Shamrock Communications’ Alternative WFUZ (ALT 92.1)/Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, PA. Before that he ably filled the APD/MD/midday spot at Bell Media Alternative CIMX (89X)/Windsor-Detroit.
In making the announcement, Alpha Media Louisville OM Ben Davis said, “Louisville is experiencing the return of an Alternative station for the first time in many years and I believe Phil will have no problem cultivating and attracting new listeners. Phil is a creative out-of-the-box thinker who lives and breathes the lifestyle. I’m excited to welcome him to Louisville and watch him put his unique stamp on ALT 105.1.”
Steve Bearance, Market Manager of Alpha Media Louisville, remarked, “When we decided to bring Alternative radio back to Louisville, we knew adding the right combination of Program Director and live, local talent was going to be key to the stations success. After a long search we have found the best candidate and are excited to watch Phil and ALT 105.1 excel!”
