Promotion Party At New South Radio
• New South Radio of Jackson, MS announces some exciting changes in the programming department, starting with the news that Nikki Brown (left), longtime PD of Country WUSJ (US96) will be unplugging and moving across the hall to take command of the cluster’s top-rated Top 40 WYOY (Y101.7), while US96 morning host Traci Lee (right) is upped to PD of US96 and Classic Country cousin WHJT (93-5 The Legend).
GM/Market Manager Bob Lawrence noted, “I spent a great deal of time on a PD search for Y101 and realized that we have such amazing talent in our building it seemed only natural to promote from within. Nikki has experience in just about all formats and is a promotional wiz. I know she will show Traci the US96 ropes.”
• And there’s more — two weeks ago, The Morning Showgram With Nate & Bender on WYOY disbanded — Chris Bender left to pursue a career in real estate, and it was announced that his now former partner Nate West will relocate over to WUSJ as Traci Lee’s new co-host. That move will be made once the new Y101 morning is announced, very soon. Stay tuned.
