Pros On The Loose: Chris ‘DECiPHA’ Hernandez

• After just shy of two decades with Audacy Phoenix, Operations Manager Chris “DECiPHA” Hernandez has exited. In a Friday LinkedIn post, Hernandez said, “After nearly 19 years with the company… and so many incredible years working directly with LIVE 101.5… it’s time for me to turn over the keys.”

Hernandez began as an on-air mixer on the former KZON (101.5 JAMZ) in 2009 and was promoted to Imaging Director in 2010. Two years after the station’s 2013 rebranding as KALV (Live 101.5), Hernandez was upped to APD/MD, ultimately reaching the PD chair in March 2018. He was further elevated to Operations Manager of the cluster in late 2020, with added oversight of Country 107.9 KMLE and Classic Hits KOOL-FM (Big 94.5). Hernandez was upped to Regional Brand Manager in 2023, picking up the care and feeding of Top 40 WKXJ (Kiss 105.5)/Chattanooga, TN.

Hernandez added, “I’m grateful for the teams I’ve led, the people I’ve met, the artists we’ve supported, the events we’ve built, the concerts we’ve experienced, and all the cool shit we did along the way! But more than anything, I’m grateful for my wife and kids, who supported me through every early morning, late night, and crazy idea.”
