Pros On The Loose: Clarence Barnes

Barnes shared his feelings in an extended social media post that reads, in part, “I’ve been fortunate to spend much of my career with the iHeart family, from Z100/New York to KIIS-FM/Los Angeles, and for the past 13 years at Classic Hits 103.7 in the Bay Area. Along the way, I’ve had the privilege of working with extraordinary people, including Tom Poleman, Ricci Filiar, John Peake, John Ivey, Rick Dees, Ellen K, Elvis Duran, Big Boy, and so many others who helped shape my career. I’ve met incredible listeners, made lifelong friends, and spent every day doing what I’ve loved since I was a kid. I will never take that for granted.
To everyone who hired me, believed in me, challenged me, laughed with me, and trusted me to be part of your day, thank you. You’ve given me memories and friendships that I’ll carry for the rest of my life.
One thing I’ve learned about radio is that it has a funny way of bringing people back together. This isn’t my first unexpected turn, and perhaps it won’t be my last. Until then, I’ll keep doing what I’ve always done: creating, producing, hosting, telling stories, coaching talent, and saying ‘yes’ to new adventures.”
