Q100/Atlanta Rebrands As Q99.7

• After 18 years as “Q100,” Cumulus Top 40 WWWQ/Atlanta has officially rebranded to the more frequency-appropriate moniker Q99.7. That change is now reflected on-air, online at q997atlanta.com and on Amazon Alexa.

Fellow radio geeks will recall that WWWQ signed on as Q100 in 2001 and was originally located at 100.5 FM; in 2008, the station moved to the stronger, 100,000-watt 99.7 FM frequency.

Louie Diaz, VP of Top 40 and Rhythmic Top 40 for Cumulus Media, said, “Q100 has been one of the most successful Top 40 radio stations in the country, but now is the right time to refresh and rebrand the station as Q99.7 for the current and new generation of listeners. Rebranding Q100 to Q99.7 reflects the simple fact that listeners find the station at 99.7 on the dial. Our transition from Q100 to Q99.7 is now complete.”

It goes without saying… but we will say it anyway… Q99.7 will continue to play Atlanta’s best hit music and remain the flagship for The Bert Show, syndicated by Westwood One.
