Remembering Greg Williams

Williams was best known for his 25-year run as Brand Manager and morning talent at Audacy Rhythmic KDGS (Power 93.5)/Wichita until he was one of many caught up in a large-scale company downsizing in March 2025. Less than two months later, Williams received devastating news: a diagnosis of stage four metastatic cholangiocarcinoma. This rare and aggressive cancer had spread to his bile duct, lung, gall bladder, and bones. Williams was hospitalized on January 28, but was released to recover at home.
A spokesperson from Audacy shared this statement: “We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Greg ‘The Hitman’ Williams. For more than four decades, Greg was a true Wichita legend, who connected with listeners through his energy, authenticity and genuine love of radio. He had a rare ability to make every broadcast feel personal, and his impact extended throughout our community. We send our heartfelt condolences to Greg’s family, friends and former colleagues during this incredibly difficult time.”
Williams is survived by his wife, Necol, who recently established a GoFundMe account to help with the family’s mounting medical expenses.
