Remembering Lee Douglas

• We are sending our most sincere condolences to the many friends, family members and colleagues of Lee Douglas, former longtime OM/PD of Audacy/Entercom/CBS Radio Country KFRG (K-Frog 95.1)/Riverside, CA, who passed away on Thursday, August 11 at the age of 74.

Douglas joined KFRG in 2003 after stops in Salt Lake City, Chicago and San Francisco, and successfully ran the place until his 2017 retirement.

KFRG Asst. Brand Manager/MD and afternoon co-host Heather Froglear, a fixture at K-Frog since 1993, and a 2021 inductee into the Country Radio Hall of Fame, echoed the sentiments of many when she shared her heartfelt comments about her longtime colleague to Facebook, stating, “Incredibly sad at the loss of our former Ops Mgr./Program Director, Lee Douglas. He was a good man and a great leader. He never met a stranger, and if he got you in a conversation, it would last no less than 5 hrs. (We called it getting ‘whiz-banged.’) Guess that’s why he chose a career in broadcasting. He loved his devoted wife Barbara, and was so proud of his two children, Jamie and Jeffrey. The @kfrogradio family was honored to be led by Lee from 2003-2017. We had some great times, Boss-man. We love you and we will miss you.”

Heather was nice enough to share a link to an awesome vintage aircheck of Douglas (provided by his longtime friend, Jon Conlon) rocking the mic at the late, legendary 99X/New York, circa 1975.
