Richards Named PD of WDEZ/Wausau

Midwest Communications’ Country WDEZ/Wausau, WI has named John Richards as Brand Manager and midday air talent, effective Tuesday, Sept. 5. He replaces Derek Moran, who exits after four years as his OM position is eliminated. Richards is a San Diego native who most recently served as Operations Manager for Ingstad in the Yakima/Tri-Cities area of Washington State. He began his radio career in Flint, MI following a stint in the U.S. Air Force.

Wausau Market Manager Brett Lucht stated, “John’s passion for radio and the current Country format is off the charts. We look forward to John bringing his leadership skills and programming experience to our Wausau operation.” Richards remarked, “I’ve always known Midwest Communications was the best place in radio to work. I’m looking forward to taking WDEZ to new heights and being the dominant radio station in Central Wisconsin.”
