Roddy Named PD of The Wolf & Buzz/Portland
• UPDATED: Last week we told you Scott Roddy had resigned as Brand Content Director for Hubbard Radio Adult Hits WARH (106.5 The Arch)/St. Louis for a new opportunity — today it was revealed that Roddy is headed for Portland, OR as the new OM/PD of Entercom Country KWJJ (99.5 The Wolf) and Hot AC KRSK (105.1 The Buzz), effective October 7.
“Scott has an impressive track record programming leading stations and we’re fortunate to add him to the team,” said Kim Martinez, SVP/Market Manager, Entercom Portland. “I’m confident his proven leadership will enable him to step in and immediately enhance the programming efforts for our stations.”
The move marks a return to the Entercom family for Roddy, who programmed Entercom’s WNTR & WXNT/Indianapolis from 2009-2013. It’s also a return to the Pacific Northwest, where Roddy formerly lead Saga’s Cascade Radio Group cluster in Bellingham, WA from 2013-1016. Earlier in his career he worked for Oasis Radio Group Ft. Wayne, IN and previously spent a decade with Susquehanna in Indianapolis. Roddy joined Hubbard Radio St. Louis in February 2016 as PD of Country WIL-FM, and later added oversight of WARH; he handed off WIL-FM programming reins to Danny Montana in January 2019.
Roddy remarked, “Kim Martinez is building a world-class operation at Entercom Portland and I’m excited to join her team. Her passion for our industry, audience, investors and local team is unparalleled. I’d like to thank Kim, [Chief Programming Officer] Pat Paxton, [Regional President] Doug Abernethy, [SVP/Programming] Dave Richards and Tim Roberts [PD, 98.7 The Breeze/Detroit] for the opportunity. I’m stoked to join the iconic Wolf and to bring some electricity back to the Buzz.”
• Roddy’s arrival replaces two people: Mike Moore, former VP of Programming and PD of The Wolf, whose position was recently eliminated, and KRSK PD Brian Bridgman, who exited a few weeks ago, we are told.
