Roth Ready To Steer DC’s Drive

• Entercom has formally named Chris Roth as the new Program Director of Classic Hits WIAD (94.7 The Drive)/Washington, D.C., effective now. He succeeds Steve Davis, who recently announced his departure and relocation back home to Richmond, VA.

In this role, Roth will work closely with Chris Ebbott, Entercom Classic Hits Format Captain and PD of Classic Hits KRTH (K-Earth 101)/Los Angeles to accelerate 94.7 The Drive’s ratings growth. “One year into the format, we are satisfied with the station’s position but we are constantly seeking new ways to innovate and improve,” said Phil Zachary, SVP/Market Manager, Entercom D.C. “Chris Roth brings the vernacular and market knowledge to fine tune 94.7 The Drive to D.C.’s particular tastes. He’s uniquely suited for this role and I’m excited to see him help our station excel.”

Roth has spent the majority of his 20-year career in the D.C. metro area, holding multiple programming and on-air roles for iHeartMedia, Hubbard Broadcasting, Salem Communications and Red Zebra Broadcasting in Washington D.C., Curtis Media Group in Raleigh, NC and Centennial Broadcasting in Winchester, VA. Roth most recently served as VP/Business Development for Bohn Broadcasting Services and was doing weekends at Entercom AC WLIF (Today’s 101.9)/Baltimore.

“Programming 94.7 The Drive is a dream job for me,” said Roth. “I’m passionate about the Classic Hits format and I’m looking forward to making it the fun destination for D.C. listening.”
