Saunders To Program CMG’s WALR/Atlanta
• Cox Media Group Atlanta has secured the talents of veteran programmer Michael Saunders as the new Director of Branding & Programming for Urban AC WALR (KISS 104.1), “Atlanta’s R&B,” with a start date of Monday, Nov. 25.
Saunders’ radio career spans decades, and includes programming stops at some of America’s most influential brands, including KQBT (93.7 The Beat)/Houston, WJLB/Detroit, WPGC/Washington, WJHM (102 Jamz)/Orlando, CMG’s WCFB (Star 94.5)/Orlando (2011-2016), and the launch of iHeartMedia’s WWPR (Power 105.1)/New York in 2002.
Saunders also founded the New York, Detroit and Florida Music Conferences and was inducted into the National Black Radio Hall of Fame.
