Saunders’ radio career spans decades, and includes programming stops at some of America’s most influential brands, including KQBT (93.7 The Beat)/Houston, WJLB/Detroit, WPGC/Washington, WJHM (102 Jamz)/Orlando, CMG’s WCFB (Star 94.5)/Orlando (2011-2016), and the launch of iHeartMedia’s WWPR (Power 105.1)/New York in 2002.
Saunders also founded the New York, Detroit and Florida Music Conferences and was inducted into the National Black Radio Hall of Fame.
Chris Eagan, CMG SVP of Programming, commented, “We’re thrilled to welcome Michael back to the CMG family. I can’t wait to watch WALR evolve to new heights with his programming leadership.”
“I’m beyond excited to return to Cox Media Group,” Saunders said. “I can’t wait to work with Rob Babin, Chris Eagan, Nate Reed, Elroy Smith and the entire team at KISS 104.1/Atlanta.”
