Serrano Upped To APD, Hot 101.5/Tampa

• Cox Media Group Top 40 WPOI (Hot 101.5)/Tampa Bay has promoted afternoon drive personality Danny Serrano to Assistant Program Director. In his newly expanded APD role, Serrano will support critical day-to-day music programming and the execution of marketing, promotions, events and sales campaigns, while driving you home weekdays from 3-7pm.

“Danny is an integral part of the Hot 101.5 vision,” said Will Calder, Director of Branding & Programming for Hot 101.5. “I’m extremely proud that he has achieved this accomplishment within our organization and look forward to watching the impact he will continue to have on our brand and with our partners and clients.”

Serrano is a Tampa Bay native who began his radio career in 2000 as an on-air personality and production assistant at WTMP/Tampa, followed by four years across the street with Beasley’s WHFS (1010 CBS Sports Radio) and WLLD (WiLD 94.1). After a two-year PD stint with Coast Radio Group in Biloxi, MS, Serrano joined Hot 101.5 in 2017 as a board-op and quickly rose through the ranks to nights, middays and now, afternoons.

Serrano credits his move to CMG for elevating his passion for radio and propelling his career forward, as he remarked, “Securing the entry-level position at CMG helped me to grow into the programmer that I’ve always wanted to become. thank Will Calder, Nate Reed and Keith Lawless for their faith, guidance, and respect over the years to help me get to this point.”
