Sessions Joins 93Q As APD/MD/PM Drive
• Cox Media Group Country KKBQ (93Q)/Houston welcomes Lauren “Lo” Sessions as the station’s new APD/MD and afternoon drive talent. Fortunately, Ms. Sessions gets to keep her Texas driver’s license, as she segues from her current role as Marketing Director for Alpha Media San Antonio.
The Florida-born Sessions started her radio career at WFLZ/Tampa and later did middays on West Virginia Radio Corporation’s WVAQ/Morgantown, WV. In 2016 she joined Alpha Media Portland to do nights at Top 40 KBFF (Live 95.5) and MD at Rhythmic WE 102.9 (KINK-HD2), transferring to San Antonio a year ago as APD/MD of Top 40 KTFM (Energy 94.1) & Content Director of Rhythmic WE 94.5 (KTFM-HD2). After KTFM’s June flip to Sports-Talk, Sessions was named Marketing Director of the group.
“I am beyond pumped to have Lo join the 93Q team,” said Travis Moon, Director of Operations for CMG Houston. “She’s a rising programming star with such a creative and engaging on-air personality. I’m looking forward to seeing her amazing connection come to life with 93Q’s passionate Country listeners in Houston.”
“Cue Alan Jackson – she’s gone Country, folks!” exclaimed Sessions, who was recently chosen as one of four mentees for the MIW Mildred Carter Mentoring Program’s Class of 2022. “The only word I can describe how I’m feeling is excitement — I’m excited to join a group of talented individuals, work alongside one of the best Country programmers in the industry, and experience the magic of what this format not only brings to the great city of Houston, but across the country. My sincere thanks to Travis Moon, Stephanie Callihan and the CMG team for this incredible opportunity. I’m truly looking forward to bringing The Lo Show & KKBQ to new heights in the Space City. Also, a girl can never have too many pairs of boots, right?!”
