Shannon Brand Manager — Again — At WNCY
• As initially reported by Country Aircheck and confirmed by RAMP, Midwest Communications’ Country WNCY (Y100)/Appleton-Green Bay, WI keeps it firmly in the family and promotes morning personality Randy “Shotgun” Shannon to Brand Manager/MD. Shannon succeeds former Y100 Brand Manager Dan Stone, who on Oct. 23 wrapped up a remarkable 54-year broadcasting career — the last 34 with Midwest — and relocated to Michigan’s scenic Upper Peninsula.
The Y100 MD position was most recently held by another longtime WNCY veteran — 20-year morning co-host Charli McKenzie, who left this summer to move closer to family — also in Michigan’s U.P.
The Y100 PD chair is a familiar seat for Shannon, who originally held the role from 1996-2006 before moving to Denver, where he co-hosted mornings on CBS Radio’s KWLI (92.5 The Wolf), and later, programmed the rebranded KWOF (The Wolf) under new owner Wilks. After a year-long stint in mornings on CMG’s KCYY (Y100)/San Antonio, Shannon returned to Y100 in 2012 and has been doing mornings since 2017. He can be congratulated at randy.shannon@mwcradio.com.
