Sin City Swapping Approved

UPDATED: Beasley Media Group Las Vegas is counting down to a major frequency swap — effective Friday, June 24, at the stroke of 10am, KCYE (102.7 Coyote Country) and Hot AC sister KVGS (Star 107.9) will tastefully exchange dial positions, with KCYE becoming 107.9 Coyote Country and KVGS rebranding as 102.7 VGS.

And there’s much more — on Monday June 27, local radio and television veteran Shawn Tempesta will join the new 102.7 VGS as morning co-host, plugging in across from current co-host Aimee Thomas. Tempesta, who was most recently APD/afternoon personality across the street on Audacy Hot AC KMXB (Mix 94.1) will replace Jeff Kurkjian, who is moving to Philadelphia as the new co-host of The Andie Summers Show on Beasley Country cousin 92.5 WXTU/Philadelphia, effective July 1.

Hang on, still more… Sammi Reeves will take over afternoons on KVGS, while over on KCYE, PD Shawn Stevens will move from middays to mornings, Paul Knight returns to take over middays, and Ransom Garcia remains in afternoon drive.

“For the last three years we have been working towards making Beasley Las Vegas the premier destination for listeners and advertisers,” said Peter Burton, VP/Market Manager of Beasley Las Vegas. “This move, which was supported by intense research and coordination from our outstanding programming and engineering teams will bring us closer to our goal. Bringing Shawn Tempesta aboard will elevate not only our on-air quality but will also grow our commitment to our local digital content efforts. Our line-ups are now second-to-none and as the rest of the market goes national, we continue to focus heavily on the Las Vegas community that we serve.”

OM/PD Cat Thomas remarked, “As the Las Vegas market continues to grow, we are excited to expand the audience reach of Beasley in the valley with this move.”
