SMG Rebrands The Bridge

• Stephens Media Group (SMG) just completed a comprehensive rebranding of Contemporary Christian KEZP (104.3 The Bridge)/Alexandria, LA, which had hit a low point last fall when it was knocked off the air for several weeks during hurricanes. The station’s extensive rebranding also includes a new logo, new imaging voices, a new website, new jingles, a new on-air lineup and brand new studios in downtown Alexandria. Oh, and we are pleased to report that, effective Monday, May 24, The Bridge welcomed Jeff Akin as its new PD and morning host.

Akin’s new live and local morning show replaces the syndicated Kevin & Taylor. He’s also added two local personalities — Sheila K in middays and Jack Robertson in afternoons. “Jeff is going to do a great job in Alexandria,” said Bob Thornton, SMG SVP of Programming. “He has a tremendous track record in CCM Radio, understand the audience and our advertisers needs and will be a great addition to the community.”

KEZP’s rebranding was spearheaded by new SMG CCM Branding Manager Jeremiah Richardson.
