Stanton Headed Back Down Under

• We wanted to take a moment and send our best wishes to Alpha Media VP of Content Ronnie Stanton, who announced he is relocating back home to Australia to be closer to his family, effective May 1.

The good news is, Stanton will continue to oversee Alpha Media’s Rock and AC formats remotely from Australia, but he will be relinquishing his day-to-day programming responsibilities at Hot AC KEZR (Mix 106) and Classic Hits KBAY/San Jose.

Stanton joined Alpha Media in November 2016 as VP of Programming and PD of KBAY and KEZR. Before that he served as VP of National Brands and Programming for Canada’s Corus Entertainment. He earlier put in five years with Astral Media in Vancouver and another 15 years in Australian radio.

Alpha Media EVP of Programming Scott Mahalick shared his thoughts on Stanton’s many contributions, telling RAMP, “Ronnie is one the smartest programmers in the world and brings a fresh, innovative perspective to our team.” The search for Stanton’s San Jose successor is now underway.
