Staudt Named iHeart VP/Podcast Prog.
• iHeartMedia has elevated Matty Staudt to Vice President of Podcast Programming at iHeartRadio. In this newly created position, Staudt will be responsible for working with iHeartMedia talent and local markets to develop their original podcast strategy, reporting directly to Chris Peterson, SVP of Podcasting at iHeartRadio.
Staudt was most recently the Digital Program Director for iHeartMedia San Francisco, where he developed the first local branded podcast strategy and launched more than 30 original locally focused podcasts. We are told that a replacement will be named shortly.
Staudt began his radio career nearly 30 years ago at his hometown station, WQZK/Keyser, West Virginiaand has since worked as a producer, consultant and mentor at stations across the country. In 2008, his passion for podcasting led him to become part of the startup team and first director of content and community for the podcasting app, Stitcher before moving to Premiere Networks as a consulting producer.
In his not-so-spare time, Staudt is also the host of iHeartRadio’s popular Access Podcast, and he’s also a teacher at the Academy of Art University, where he developed the first podcast production program of its kind in the United States and their first branded content course.
