20 Years For Young Skywalker
• Because we work in an industry where turnover is usually the rule rather than the exception, it’s particularly noteworthy to celebrate any instance of lengthy stability, and, in this case, we want to congratulate Skywalker, who this month celebrates 20 years of service at Pamal Broadcasting Top 40 WSPK (K104.7)/Poughkeepsie, NY.
A native of Long Island, NY, Skywalker got his foot in the door at K104.7 as a part-timer back in 1998. Two years later, he was awarded a fulltime airshift, and the rest, as they say, is Hudson Valley radio history. Today, he’s WSPK’s APD and highly rated afternoon drive personality.
Looking back on the past two decades, Skywalker shared his feelings with RAMP, telling us, “I feel really blessed to be part of a heritage radio station that successfully competes in New York City’s backyard. I must thank my PD Scotty Mac, who originally brought me here. If you are going to be the Robin to a Batman, he’s the guy.
