Steele Upped To PM Drive, WJJK/Indianapolis

• After a successful seven-year run in evenings at Cumulus Classic Hits 104.5 WJJK/Indianapolis, Laura Steele has been elevated to afternoon drive, starting Monday, May 1.

An Indianapolis native, Steele famously worked at the late, legendary WNAP back in the day and later spent 15 years in middays at iHeartMedia Classic Rock WFBQ (Q95) until 2015. Steele has also lent her talents to Rock stations in Chicago, Cincinnati, Dallas, Nashville, and the San Francisco Bay Area.

Steele is also a voice for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Radio Network and the emcee for Colts’ pre-game events. Paving the way as the first female voice on the public address team at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 2004, Steele is now known for her work with WTHR-TV during the month of May as an Indy 500 correspondent.

Mike Killabrew, PD of 104.5 WJJK, said, “Laura brings an incredible presence, enthusiasm, and passion for everything Indianapolis and 104.5 WJJK!” Steele commented, “I’m so eager to move into the afternoon drive slot at what I believe is the best radio station in Indianapolis, 104.5 WJJK. I’m thrilled to be playing the Classic Hits I still love after all these years!”
