Talent Shuffle At WPHT & WWJ

• Audacy announced new weekday on-air lineups for Talk Radio 1210 WPHT/Philadelphia and WWJ-AM (News Radio 950)/Detroit, effective Oct. 3.

Let’s start in Philly, where Nick Kayal joins 1210 WPHT to anchor the new Kayal and Company morning show alongside Dawn Stensland and Greg Stocker. At the same time, current morning host Rich Zeoli will move to afternoon drive.

Kayal is a 16-year sports radio vet who spent the past four years with Cromwell’s WPRT (102.5 The Game)/Nashville. A native of Easton, PA and a 2006 graduate of Temple University, Kayal worked for Beasley Sports-Talk WPEN (97.5 The Fanatic)/Philadelphia from 2009-2015 before joining SiriusXM. He has also worked for Audacy’s WZGC (92.9 The Game)/Atlanta.

“For the first time ever, WPHT will be live and local from 6am to 7pm, which further cements this fan favorite as the voice of Philadelphia and a reliable destination for our listeners,” said David Yadgaroff, SVP/Market Manager, Audacy Philadelphia. “We’re excited to welcome Nick, who is trading in his sports background for his passion for politics, to our morning drive, and move Rich and his highly-successful program to entertain and inform listeners as they wind down their days.”

Effective Oct. 3, the revised local weekday line-up for Talk Radio 1210 WPHT weekday line-up looks like this — 6-10am: Kayal and Company; 10am-noon: The Dawn Stensland Show; noon-3pm: The Dom Giordano Program; 3-7pm: The Rich Zeoli Show.

• Here are the changes at WWJ-AM (News Radio 950)/Detroit, beginning Oct. 3: Jonathan Carlson (left) will host solo from 5-7am, and will then be joined by WWJ anchor Jackie Paige (right), who will co-host with Carlson from 7-10am ET. Paige will also host middays solo from 10am-noon, followed by Brooke Allen from noon-2pm. Tony Ortiz takes over at 2pm and will be joined by Allen from 3-6pm ET, and roll solo again from 6-7pm. Erin Vermeulen will remain as WWJ’s evening news anchor from 7-midnight.

“We are excited to announce our new line-up, which is full of news anchors who are seasoned and well known in the community,” said Debbie Kenyon, SVP/Market Manager, Audacy Detroit. “This new slate will allow WWJ to continue its mission of keeping listeners informed of breaking news and the top stories of the day.”
