Tanchyk Now Brand Mgr. Of Portland’s Buzz

Jamie “Tanch” Tanchyk has been elevated to Brand Manager of Audacy Hot AC KRSK (105.1 The Buzz)/Portland, OR.

The position was most recently held by Scott Roddy, who earlier this year was promoted to Regional Vice President of West Coast Country Programming, giving him operational oversight of WDAF (106.5 The Wolf)/Kansas City and KFRG (K-Frog)/Riverside. Roddy has relocated to San Diego as Brand Manager of 103.7 KSON, and he remains Brand Manager of KWJJ (99.5 The Wolf)/Portland as well.

“For the last three years, Jamie has been a dedicated, committed leader for this station and is the perfect candidate to usher in the next chapter of KRSK,” said Kim Martinez, SVP/Market Manager, Audacy Portland. “We’re excited to elevate him to Brand Manager and watch him continue to grow The Buzz into a local favorite for the people of Portland.”

“The past decade with Audacy has been the highlight of my career, and I feel like we’re just getting started,” said Tanchyk. “With the team we have in place, I can’t wait to see how high 105.1 The Buzz can fly. Thank you to Kim Martinez, Dave Richards and Steve Salhany for your trust and support, and to Scott Roddy for preparing me for this opportunity!”

Tanchyk joined The Buzz in Feb. 2020 as APD/MD and afternoon personality, coming off a five and a half-year run as APD/MD/midday jock on sister KHTP (Hot 103.7)/Seattle. Prior to his move to the Pacific time zone in 2014, Tanchyk had spent the bulk of his radio career in Albany, NY, getting his start in 2006 doing nights at Pamal Rhythmic WAJZ (Jamz 96.3). The following year he crossed the hall as APD/night jock on Top 40 sister WFLY (Fly 92.3), later returning to Jamz as PD and midday talent. In 2010, Tanchyk joined Townsquare Albany to launch and program Urban Hot 99.1 and WQSH (Pop Crush 105.7) while also doing weekends on WODS (formerly 103.3 AMP Radio)/Boston. Before moving to Seattle, Tanchyk programmed now former Pamal Triple A WZMR (104.9 The Peak)/Albany.
