The Pamal Programming Dept.
• There has been a flurry of pre-Thanksgiving activity in the hallways of Pamal’s clusters in Rutland, VT and equally scenic Glens Falls, NY. The action starts with Chris O’Neil (left), currently PD of Country WFFG (Froggy 100.3) and Classic Hits WNYQ (Q101.7)/Glens Falls, who has been elevated to Operations Manager for the company’s Rutland, VT group and PD of AC WJJR (and pm drive), and Classic Hits WSYB. He replaces Vinny Marino, who exited last week.
In a staff memo, Pamal Corporate Director of Operations & Programming Kevin Callahan notes, “This is somewhat of a homecoming for Chris, as he worked for our stations in Rutland a while ago as an air talent [on Country WJEN (105.3 Cat Country)]. Chris has been with our company for many years and continues to learn and grow as our stations evolve further into leaders in today’s media landscape. His multi-format experience will help us in Vermont.”
Back in Glens Falls, Callahan has tapped “Mark The Shark” Wilson (left), evening talent on Country WKLI (100.9/107.1 The Cat)/Albany to succeed O’Neil as Operations Manager of WFFG and WNYQ. Wilson will continue to do nights on WKLI and add mornings on WFFG.
Callahan noted, “Mark brings previous Operations Manager experience from Ft. Myers, and more than a decade of Country programming at ratings-performing stations in Ft. Myers and Sarasota, FL. Mark started his career in Albany at WFLY and spent time at PYX 106 as well. Many of you already know Mark, as he’s filled in on more than half of our stations over vacations and holidays, etc.” In closing, Callahan said, Please join me in congratulating both Chris and Mark. It’s great to see people grow within the company and grow their skills. I know both Chris and Mark will be at the forefront of further collaboration, innovation and content creation!”
