• With Dollar Comes Change — Cumulus Media has named programming vet Bill Dollar as the new Operations Manager for its six-station group in Albany, GA — WKAK (NASH FM 104.5), WNUQ (102.1 NASH Icon), Classic Rock WJAD (Rock 103), Urban AC WQVE (V101.7), AC WEGC (Mix 107) and News/Talk WALG-AM. Dollar will also do middays on NASH FM 104.5, unplug, then run across the hall to drive you home on Rock 103.5 from 2-6pm.

Dollar transfers in from Cumulus Montgomery, AL, where he has programmed Country cousin WLWI for over eight years. Prior to that, Dollar was longtime OM/PD/afternoon talent at WTSH-FM/Rome, GAKay Evans, VP/Market Manager of Cumulus Media Albany, GA, said of Dollar, “His knowledge of radio and years of experience will help Cumulus provide an even higher level of entertainment and community involvement in the Albany area.” Dollar remarked, “I thank Mike McVay, John Dimick, Kay Evans and the entire Cumulus team for the opportunity to deliver great programming to the Albany, GA area. It’s going to be a great summer and I am dressing accordingly.” As we reported back in April, current Albany OM John Blake has accepted another position outside of radio.

 

• Alpha Media of Greenville-New Bern-Jacksonville, NC has named a new PD of its legendary Country station, WRNS, and it’s a woman bearing one of the coolest radio names ever — say hello to Crystal Legends, has been upped from the MD/morning co-host position. She succeeds Carletta Blake, who in March was named PD of iHeartMedia Country WNCB (B93.9)/Raleigh. Ms. Legends (pictured) brings nearly 20 years of radio experience to the position. She previously served as MD across the hall on Top 40 sister WERO (Bob 93.3) from 2009 until she joined WRNS in 2012. Her previous market stops include WRHT/WRHD.

Alpha Media EVP of Programming, Scott Mahalick commented, “It’s great to have bench strength and promote from within Alpha Media. Crystal has the chops, passion, and love of people to drive WRNS every day.” Market Manager Tony Denton added, “Crystal has shown great dedication and ability. She is a talented and motivated individual.
