• Budget cuts have come calling at Federated Media Ft. Wayne, IN, resulting in the impending departure of 12-year company vet Dave Michaels (left), who steps down as OM/midday personality on Country WQHK (K105). The good news is, Michaels, who had also been tracking afternoon drive live on sister WAWC (Willie 103.5)/Syracuse, IN, will now do that shift live until the end of the year.

Prior to joining Federated Media in 2005, Michaels spent two years as PD of crosstown Country WBTU (US 93.3). Michaels’ previous programming stops include WSTO/Evansville, IN from 2000-2001 and WKFR/Kalamazoo, MI from 1992-2000. He can be easily reached at 260-385-0508 or dmichaels@federatedmedia.com.

• Concurrent with Michaels’ news comes word that Jimmy Knight (left), PD of Hot AC sibling WMEE will now take on OM duties and adds programming of K105 to his daily to-do list as well.

To make time for his newly expanded responsibilities, Knight tells RAMP he’s coming off the air and awards the WMEE midday shift to “my longtime weekend warrior and overall rock star, Dan Scheie.”
