• Great news about a longtime friend and former Fresno radio colleague, Rose Ortega — she has been upped to Assistant Program Director for Momentum Broadcasting Country KJUG/Tulare-Visalia, CA! She will continue to do middays.

Ortega (left) has been on the KJUG team since 2012, and before that she spent a decade in mornings at KSOF/Fresno. Her previous stops include KYNO-FM/Fresno and WLYF/Miami.

KJUG PD Rik McNeil commented, “Rose has had a key role in building some of the biggest brands in the Valley. Over the last couple of years, Rose has gradually taken more responsibility in planning and executing what we do, and I’m lucky to be working closely with such a fierce advocate for the KJUG listeners!” Your best wishes can be sent directly to Rose at 559-553-1518 or rose@kjug.com.

• Entercom keeps it in the family and promotes Steven Spector to Program Director of Sports-Talk KCSP-AM (610 Sports Radio)/Kansas City, the radio home of youuuur Kansas City Royals and Kansas State Wildcats. Spector was most recently APD and producer of The Drive with Carrington Harrison and Brad Fanning, weekdays from 2-6pm.

Dave Alpert, Regional President & Market Manager, Entercom Kansas City, remarked, “This is a well-deserved and well-earned promotion and I’m confident that Steven will continue to elevate 610 Sports Radio in the Kansas City market.” Spector started his radio career with ESPN 890/Washington, DC in 2008. He joined KCSP-AM in 2013 as a producer for Fescoe in the Morning.

• Hubbard Radio continues to experience end-of-year personnel cuts — the latest downsizing took place at KDKB (ALT AZ 93.3)/Phoenix, which has parted ways with PD Nancy Stephens.

A staff memo from VP/Market Manager Trip Reeb laid out the revised management structure, as it read, “In the wake of Nancy’s departure, David Moore, ALT’s Operations Manager will now be the Program Director. Additionally Dustin Carlson will be ALT’s Music Director. Dayton continues in his role as Promotions Director. With this group I believe we have a great team to build on ALT’s strong position in the market.”
