• WGN Radio/Chicago has named Charlie Roumeliotis as the studio host of Chicago Blackhawks’ pre- and postgame shows for the 2024-25 season. He will also host WGN Radio’s weekly Blackhawks Live show. Roumeliotis has served as “Blackhawks Insider” for NBC Sports Chicago since 2019, and as a Blackhawks correspondent for the NHL.
Of course, long-time broadcast duo John Wiedeman and Troy Murray will continue to call Blackhawks’ games on WGN Radio. “Adding Charlie to our broadcast booth further demonstrates our teamwork with the Chicago Blackhawks,” said Mary Sandberg Boyle, VP/GM of WGN Radio. “Already a familiar voice to our fans, Charlie’s relationship with John and Troy and the Blackhawks organization ensures this transition will be seamless and we are excited for his debut this season!”
Roumeliotis said, “Growing up, I was an avid listener of Blackhawks’ broadcasts, especially those with John Wiedeman and Troy Murray, whose voices and insights helped fuel my passion for the sport. To have the chance to work alongside them is an absolute honor. I’m thrilled about the journey ahead and eager to engage and inform the team’s loyal fan base.”
Roumeliotis assumes the role previously held by Joe Brand, who was recently named the radio play-by-play broadcaster for the Pittsburgh Penguins.
