Toby Howell Joins Cumulus Little Rock
• Cumulus Media has named Toby Howell as Program Director of NewsRadio 102.9 KARN, Sports-Talk KARN-AM (920 the Sports Animal), The Arkansas News Network and brokered Religious 1090 KAAY-AM/Little Rock, AR. He succeeds Peter Thiel. Cumulus Little Rock Market Manager Keith Liesmann said, “We are very happy to get a guy like Toby with his radio background and look forward to watching him grow the NewsRadio 102.9 brand along with the Sports Animal and KAAY across our community in Little Rock.”
Howell transfers from Cumulus Oklahoma City, where he was a talk show host on Sports-Talk sister WWLS (98.1 The Sports Animal), Executive Producer for the Oklahoma City Thunder broadcasts, and also worked on Hot AC KYIS (98.9 Kiss FM). Howell notably spent 20+ years in his home market of Spokane, WA, working for Mapleton Communications as the Asst. OM, PD and host of the Lockeroom with Toby Howell for SportsRadio 1510 KGA and KBZD (105.7 NOW FM). Before that he worked with Jerry Clifton‘s Pro-Active Communications in Spokane and was also PD/afternoon host on KNZW (1340 the Zone)/Wenatchee, WA.
