Tulsa’s Rick Couri Feelin’ Groovy
• Screen Door Broadcasting Classic Hits Groovy 105.7 (KWEN-HD2/K289CC)/Tulsa, playing “The Greatest Hits of the ’60s & ’70s” is excited to welcome market legend Rick Couri as the new host of The Groovy Morning Show, weekdays from 6-10am, starting Monday, March 3.
With a career spanning more than four decades, Couri is a familiar and trusted voice in Tulsa radio, having previously worked at CMG News-Talk KRMG 102.3, and more recently, at Griffin Communications’ KTSB (The Sports Blitz 1170) — now All-News KOTV-AM.
“We are beyond excited to welcome Rick Couri to Groovy 105.7,” said Jason Bennett, Owner/GM of Groovy 105.7. “His voice is iconic in Tulsa, and his ability to entertain, inform, and engage an audience makes him the perfect fit for our station. Rick has deep roots in the community and has built strong connections with listeners over the years. His presence on Groovy 105.7 will strengthen our bond with the Tulsa audience.”
Two-year-old Groovy 105.7 is consulted by another longtime Tulsa radio pro — Steve Hunter, who most recently served as Director of Radio Operations & Programming for Griffin Media Tulsa, and previously spent 22 years in multiple roles with CMG Tulsa, including AC Format Leader and Director of Operations.
“I’m thrilled about this opportunity to remain on the air in a city and area that has given my family and me so much,” said Couri. “I can’t wait to interact with the audience, tell stories, and play the music that has become the soundtrack of my life. Let’s have some fun!”
