Uncle Pauly Headed Home

Paul “Uncle Pauly” McDaniel, OM of Saga’s Harrisonburg, VA group and PD of Country WSIG announced he’s transferring to the OM position for the company’s six-station cluster back in his hometown of Charlottesville — thus, saving him two hours in the car daily. That position was previously held by Les Sinclair, who left a few months back.

Commenting on his current situation, McDaniel (left) said, “GM Kim Mitchell and the live and local staff here at HRG are one-of-a-kind, and the culture Kim’s helped create in Harrisonburg is like NO OTHER market I’ve worked with in 25+ years in the business. Charlottesville GM Garret Klingel is like Kim 2.0, and I can’t wait to work and win in C-Ville!”

With McDaniel’s departure scheduled for Jan. 20, the company has promoted Brandy Lindsey (right), PD/morning co-host at Top 40 WQPO (Q101) to OM of the six Harrisonburg music stations, but the search is now underway to locate a new PD for WSIG. McDaniel will handle those duties remotely in the interim and help in the search for his replacement. So…

Harrisonburg Radio Group in Virginia’s beautiful Shenandoah Valley is on the hunt for the next Program Director/afternoon talent for WSIG. If you love any or all the following, you’ll likely want to work here forever: mountains, fairs, agriculture, hiking, nature, college towns, beer, wine, and amazing local food. Saga prides itself on remaining dedicated to local media, and the people here are REAL, FAMILY-FOCUSED, and FUN! Motivated? An amazing crew of real live local-focused people awaits you! Oh, and as we mentioned earlier this week, WSIG is also actively seeking a new morning co-host.

Qualified candidates for either role should send your aircheck & resume to pmcdaniel@hrgradio.com, and please specify which position you are applying for in the subject line. Saga Communications, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
