USRN Waves Ocean In
United Stations Radio Networks, Inc. has appointed Danny Ocean as the company’s newest Affiliate Relations Rep. In his new role, Ocean assumes the management of affiliate acquisition and maintenance in the Northeast Region of the U.S. and will also specialize in guiding the affiliate marketing efforts for USRN’s many Top 40 and Hot AC programs, including Open House Party and The Dave & Jimmy Morning Show. The announcement was made jointly by USRN EVP Charlie Colombo and SVP of Content & Affiliation, Stefan Jones. Jones commented, “Danny brings the best of both worlds to our Affiliate Marketing team. He knows what it’s like to be in a radio station and in the PD’s chair on a daily basis, but he’s also spent the last number of years getting to know our side of the business and expanding his list of contacts in radio. It’s really rare to find someone able to see the whole picture the way he can, and we couldn’t be happier that he’s now part of the United Stations team.”
Ocean spent the past 4 1/2 years working in Affiliate Relations for the Sheet Happens Prep Service. His 30-plus-year radio career also includes programming and on-air stops at WMC-FM/Memphis, KC101/New Haven, WJMN (Jam’n 94.5)/Boston, the former KZQZ/San Francisco, WIOQ (Q102)/Philadelphia and Z100/New York. Commenting on his new USRN job, Ocean said, “I’m thrilled and excited to be joining the gold standard of companies as a member of the United Stations team.
