Welcome Back, Chris Connors!
• After a six-month hiatus following a round of corporate downsizing at Cumulus Media, we are pleased to report that seasoned radio pro Chris Connors is back in the game as the newly appointed VP of Programming for Glory Communications LLC, a Gospel music-focused company based in Columbia, SC, and which owns and operates seven radio stations and seven translators that service the Midlands and Low Country regions of South Carolina, as well as Augusta, GA.
Connors most recently programmed Cumulus Urban AC WLXC (Kiss 103.1)/Columbia, SC until six months ago. Most of his radio career has been focused in the Columbia market — before joining Cumulus in Feb. 2020, Connors spent nearly two decades across the street as OM/PD of Alpha Media Urban WHXT (Hot 103.9/93.9) and Urban AC WWDM (The Big DM 101) until May 2019. Earlier in his career Connors programmed WFXC & WFXK/Raleigh and WMMJ/Washington, DC.
Commenting on his new opportunity, Connors expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “Not only do I get to stay in my adopted home of Columbia (25 years), but I get to work with people in a format that makes it feel like home.”
