‘When It’s News To Omaha…’
• … It’s news to Emery Songer, who is set to join iHeartMedia News-Talk KFAB-AM (NewsRadio 1110)/Omaha as the station’s new afternoon drive host, effective Monday, June 26.
Songer earns the transfer after five years as host and producer with sister WHO-AM (Newsradio 1040)/Des Moines, IA. During that time, he guest-hosted statewide news-talk programs as well as a regular weekend show, produced the station’s morning show, and spent countless evenings and weekends announcing local soccer and baseball games.
In making the announcement of Songer’s hire, KFAB PD Scott Voorhees said, “Emery will continue KFAB’s nearly 100-year-old tradition of on-air personalities who are passionate about connecting with the community we serve. It’s not about hammering an agenda; it’s about entertaining and relevant conversations of interest to Omaha/Council Bluffs and the surrounding area.”
Songer said, “I’m incredibly excited for this opportunity to be a part of Omaha and the KFAB team. My wife and I can’t wait to be a part of the Omaha community and meet all the amazing people that make this city move.”
