‘When It’s News To St. Cloud…’

• With a tip of our hat to legendary newsman Les Nessman, Leighton Broadcasting has a full-time opening for a news reporter/news anchor at KNSI in beautiful St. Cloud, MN, just over an hour northwest of the Twin Cities.

The right candidate has solid writing and grammatical skills, a clear speaking voice, and tells the story rather than reads it. Original reporting and prior field reporting experience is a must. You need to be reliable, self-motivated, able to think on your feet and approach the public. We need someone who is a critical thinker and problem-solver with a working knowledge of government who keeps up on current events.

We are a small newsroom, so there’s a lot of freedom to do original reporting, get out into the field, and pitch story ideas. Reliable transportation and a good attitude are also required as there are “drop everything and go” breaking news events.
