Big Joe’s Grand Return To Grand Rapids

• Townsquare Hot AC WLHT (Mix 95.7)/Grand Rapids, MI announces the debut of The Big Joe Show in morning drive, anchored by Joe Pesh, who makes his triumphant return to the market.

Pesh (pictured, bridge sold separately) originally hails from Howell MI, and began his career as an Asst. Producer for WXYT (97.1 The Ticket)/Detroit. He notably spent seven years in Grand Rapids as morning co-host/Executive Producer with former Cumulus Country WTNR (Thunder 94.5) until 2014. After a stint in mornings on Midwest Communications’ Top 40 WSTO (Hot 96)/Evansville, IN, Pesh landed in Indianapolis for six years as co-host of Joe and McKinzie morning show at Radio One Top 40 WNOW (Radio Now 100.9). He spent the past year as morning co-host on Cox Media Group Country KCYY (Y100)/San Antonio.

“As a Michigan guy, I’m so excited to come back to the city I love!” Pesh exclaimed. “I worked for seven years in Grand Rapids and fell in love with West Michigan, and even found the love of my life, my amazing wife, Lindsey. It feels great to be back home surrounded by family and friends. I can’t wait to start waking up West Michigan.”

Mix 95.7 Brand Manager, Ken Evans, added, “I can’t wait to hear what Big Joe brings to morning radio in Grand Rapids. While other stations have cut local mornings, plugged in syndicated shows, and let budgets drive their decision-making, I’m thankful that our local leaders like Doug Montgomery & Jeff Luckoff recognized the need to provide locally-generated content for our audience.”

The Big Joe Show replaces current morning duo Fish & Christine, who are leaving individually — Christine is headed to Nashville for an opportunity TBA and Fish hasn’t publicly announced his next gig yet. Evans added, “While we’re sad to see Fish & Christine move on, we wish them nothing but the best in their choice to take on new adventures. That said, we’re still looking for a co-host to join the team with Big Joe & Producer Steve.” Those interested in the position can visit the Townsquare Media Careers portal and apply online. EOE.
