WICC-AM, Now With Frequency Modulation

• Connoisseur Media’s venerable News-Talk WICC-AM 600/Bridgeport, CT, the market’s first radio station and a fixture at 600 AM since 1930, has now added an FM component at 107.3, employing a translator and the HD-2 signals from WEBE 107.9 and WPLR 99.1.

“With the addition of an FM frequency, we will really be able to get local news and information to more of the listeners of Bridgeport and beyond,” said Program Director Allan Lamberti. “This is a community that is underserved by local television news, and really WICC is the only radio station that delivers it.” SVP/Market Manager Kristin Okesson noted, “WICC is one of the first radio stations in our state, and it’s our honor to not only expand its reach but also to continue to keep it relevant and local for southern Connecticut.”

Connoisseur Media purchased WICC in 2019 with its mission to deliver more quality local news programming to the area. The station currently features local personalities Melissa Sheketoff in mornings, Lisa Wexler in middays and Paul Pacelli in afternoon drive.
