Will Calder Returns To Power 96/Miami
• Audacy welcomes Will Calder back to Miami as Director of Programming and Operations of WPOW (Power 96). Calder will oversee content strategy for the station and specific areas of operations for additional stations in the Miami cluster. This marks Calder’s second stint with Power 96 — he previously served as APD/MD and midday talent for the station from 2013 to 2018.
“We’re excited to bring Will back to Miami to oversee programming of this local favorite,” said Claudia Menegus, Regional President, Audacy. “His extensive background and his connection to this market provides a vision and strategic plan to draw on the brand’s rich legacy and position Power 96 for continued success.”
Calder was most recently Director of Branding and Programming for Cox Media Group Top 40 WPOI (Hot 101.5)/Tampa and the recently sold WPYO (Power 95.3)/Orlando. He began his radio career in 2001 at former Chicago-area Dance trimulcast WKIE/WKIF/WDEK (Energy 92.7 & 5). He later served as Production Coordinator for Entercom Milwaukee and Production Director/Asst. MD and on-air personality at the former WXRK (92.3 Now)/New York. He also built a reputation as an in-demand club jock and mix show maestro, creating the nationally syndicated Radiomixes and Internet radio station, iPartyRadio.
“I’m so excited and humbled to join the team at Audacy Miami and reunite with my former colleagues at the legendary Power 96,” Calder said. “In a way, it sort of feels like a homecoming. Big thanks to Jeff Sottolano, Dave Richards, Claudia Menegus and everyone at Audacy who helped to make this opportunity a reality.”
