WMSC Accumulates Additional Accolades

• Montclair State University’s award-winning student radio station, WMSC-FM/Montclair, NJ remains on track to add more hardware to its growing trophy case, as the station just earned 16 national award nominations from the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System (IBS), highlighting WMSC’s exceptional programming and talent across multiple categories, including “Best Station In The Nation (more than 10,000 students),” “Best Live Music Broadcast,” “Best Morning Show,” and “Best Podcast.”

Notable individual recognitions include Shannon Daly receiving her second consecutive nomination for “Best Promo,” and Aly Erario earning her second nomination for “Best Business Director.” The full list of IBS nominations can be found HERE.

“These nominations reflect the incredible talent, creativity, and dedication of our student broadcasters,” said WMSC’s General Manager, Anabella Poland (front row, center, with some of her crew… tiara sold separately). “Each nomination represents a student’s individual achievement and the collaborative ecosystem of support, innovation, and hands-on learning that defines the School of Communication and Media experience.” Student

The student-operated station has more than 850 current undergraduate students that participate in 88 shows, including more than 150 on-air personalities and contributors.

Over the years, WMSC has earned dozens of IBS award nominations and in 2024 took home first place honors in two categories. The 2025 winners will be announced at the IBS Conference & Awards in New York City on March 8.
