WMSC Up For 13 National Awards

• It’s been a busy few months indeed for WMSC, “The Voice of Montclair State University,” which is coming off an impressive string of awards earned in 2021, including “Best College Radio Station (with an enrollment more than 10,000)” and “The 2021 Spirit of College Award,” along with 13 finalist honors, including the NAB Marconi.

Now comes word that the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System Awards has named WMSC as a 2022 finalist in 13 categories, including Best College Radio Station (more than 10,000); Best Political News; Best Spot News; Best Celebrity Interview (“Weird” Al Yankovic); Best Live Music Broadcast; Best Radio Drama; Best Use of Social Media; Best Program Promotion; Best Station Promotion; Best Station ID; Best Show Promo; Best Promo Series, and Best Use of Video in Radio Studio.

“I am beyond thrilled for all of the students at WMSC who have worked tirelessly to produce amazing, fun and engaging content,” says Anabella Poland, GM of WMSC. “These nominations reflect how determined and talented our students are and highlights the impressive growth of the station and facilities at the School of Communication and Media.” The winners of the IBS Media Awards will be announced at its 82nd annual conference on March 5 .
