WOR Mornings, Now Mendte Fresh!
• iHeartMedia’s venerable 710 WOR/New York makes it official with the formal announcement that veteran radio and television broadcaster Larry Mendte is now the new host of the all-new Mendte in the Morning. Mendte, who also serve as WOR’s News Director, has been filling the wake-up shift on an interim basis since Len Berman and Michael Riedel exited last November.
“Since joining our team in 2023 as our News Director and morning drive news anchor, Larry has built a strong connection with our listeners, who have responded very positively to his time as our interim morning show host,” said Tom Cuddy, Program Director of 710 WOR. “His remarkable career, which includes an astounding 97 Emmy awards and stints at WABC Radio, Channel 7 Eyewitness News, WPIX/11 and Access Hollywood, speaks for itself. With all of this experience, he’s the ideal choice to wake up the tri-state area.”
“I am both thrilled and humbled by this opportunity,” said Mendte. “Thrilled because 710 WOR is iconic, and humbled because I’m walking in the footsteps of legends.”
Longtime New York radio news anchor Jacquelyn Karl will deliver updates on Mendte in the Morning, while the Gracie Award-winning Natalie Vacca, who is approaching 30 years at WOR, will continue in her role as Executive Producer.
