Broadway: From AM To PM On WDRQ/Detroit
• While there has been no official comment yet, RAMP has confirmed that Broadway will be moving from mornings back to afternoon drive on Cumulus Country WDRQ (New Country 93.1)/Detroit, starting Friday. We understand that a new local morning show will be announced in the coming weeks. Watch this space for details.
Broadway, a.k.a. Bill Bertschinger, joined WDRQ as afternoon drive talent in May 2019, following a stint in mornings on Entercom Country WDSY (Y108)/Pittsburgh. In Feb. 2020, as the station rebranded from “NASH” to New Country 93.1, Broadway moved from afternoons to mornings, replacing the syndicated Ty Bentli Show, initially paired with market vet “Krissy T” Williamson, and more recently, Roxanne Steele, who exited last month after declining to comply with the company’s COVID vaccine mandate.
Broadway’s earlier radio stops include mornings on WWYZ/Hartford and morning co-host on WKIS (Kiss 99.9)/Miami. He spent the first 15 years of his career in his hometown market of Grand Rapids, MI, working at iHeartMedia Country WBCT and Top 40 WSNX.
