Zakk On The Loose
• At the beginning of May, Dominic “Zakk” Zaccagnini relocated to his hometown of Pittsburgh for family reasons while continuing to remotely fulfill his role as Program Director and afternoon drive host for Cumulus Classic Rock KSAN (107.7 The Bone)/San Francisco.
Today, we received this missive from Zakk that reads, “Today, I can officially announce that, effective immediately, I no longer serve KSAN nor any/all of my other Cumulus duties that include: Kansas City Chiefs Pre-game host for KCFX/Kansas City; part-time host at [Sports-Talk] KNBR/San Francisco and Music Director for Westwood One’s nationally-syndicated Steve Gorman Rocks.”
Zakk added, “I wish my friends in San Francisco all the best. I’m especially grateful to the Lamont & Tonelli Show and Chasta for making the extraordinary a reality. Together, we made 107.7 The Bone the highest-performing and smallest-staffed major market radio station in the company. I leave KSAN currently ranked No. 1 in our target demographic (Men 25-54) for 20 of the past 29 months — a feat accomplished only once in the prior two years. Zaccagnini joined The Bone as APD/afternoon personality in July 2015, transferring from the MD/swing post Classic Rock sister WLUP (97.9 The Loop)/Chicago. He was upped to the PD chair just over a year later. In closing, Zakk said, “I’m excited and ready to begin my new adventure with you as early as July 1, 2021. Feel free to contact me at 312-550-4940 or domzaccagnini@gmail.com to discuss how we can make your station as unique and (even more) successful as the legendary KSAN.”
