Barb Sheltraw Retires From WKCQ/Saginaw

• After a remarkable 45-year run with MacDonald Broadcasting Country WKCQ (98 KCQ)/Saginaw, MI, the last 20+ years as morning co-host, Barb Sheltraw has announced her retirement. Her last day on air is today, Feb. 20, and her final broadcast will be filled with career highlights, favorite memories and visiting dignitaries.

Operations Manager/afternoon talent Jason Addams commented, “We at Macdonald Broadcasting would like to thank Barb for a truly unprecedented run with the company. Her service, success and dedication are unmatched. She will be missed by us and thousands and thousands of Mid-Michigan listeners.” When asked what she plans to do now, Barb replied, “Whatever I want!”

It was concurrently announced that Barb’s longtime Q Morning Crew co-host Jim Kramer is taking a leave of absence to handle a personal medical matter. His exact return date is flexible. For the immediate future, Jason Addams will step up to cover morning drive, effective Tuesday, Feb. 21. A new hire will not be made in the immediate future. The company notes that “98 KCQ is live and fully staffed 24/7 so additional staff members are in place to continue our service to listeners and advertisers.”
